Educação Em Direitos Humanos Sob A Ótica Dos Ensinamentos De Paulo Freire EDUCATION IN HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE VIEW OF PAULO FREIRE’S TEACHINGS

Abstract

Este texto apresenta algumas reflexões relacionadas à temática da educação em Direitos Humanos sob a ótica dos ensinamentos de Paulo Freire e, por conseguinte, com base no universo de princípios político-pedagógicos desenvolvidos por este autor que, em 2008, homenageamos pelos 40 anos de Pedagogia do Oprimido (1987). Tentaremos refletir sobre quais seriam os conteúdos e as metodologias condizentes e coerentes com a temática da Educação em Direitos Humanos, quando trabalhamos na perspectiva do que chamado de currículo e de educação intertranscultural. Não por acaso, o livro mais conhecido de Paulo Freire, Pedagogia do Oprimido, que foi manuscrito em português no ano de 1968, é dedicado “aos esfarrapados do mundo e aos que neles se descobrem e, assim, descobrindo-se, com eles sofrem, mas, sobretudo, com eles lutam” (FREIRE, 1987:23).

This paper brings some reflections related to the theme of education in Human Rights in the view of Paulo Freire’s teachings and, based on the universe of political-pedagogical principles developed by this author, we now pay homage for the 40 years of the Pedagogy of the oppressed (1987). We will try to reflect on the contents and the methodologies suitable and coherent with the theme of Education in Human rights when we work in the perspective of what we have called curricula and inter-transcultural education. Not by chance, Paulo Freire’s most renowned book, – Pedagogy of the oppressed – written in Portuguese in the year of 1968, was dedicated to “the raggedtrousered of the world, and those who discover themselves in them and, by discovering themselves, suffer together with them, but who especially struggle together with them” (FREIRE, 1987, p. 23).
