Abstract

Resumo advindo do próprio trabalho: "O que nos propomos resgatar neste artigo é a memória da presença de Paulo Freire no Rio Grande do Sul e de suas contribuições para a Educação Popular no Estado, desde sua primeira vinda, na década de 50, até a última, em 1996. Na primeira parte apresentamos uma visão panorâmica do amplo movimento de alfabetização e educação popular inspirado no método Paulo Freire, que precedeu o golpe, com referencias também ao Instituto de Cultura Popular aqui criado. O artigo finaliza apresentando uma reflexão acerca das aprendizagens e reinvenções freirianas que têm acontecido no Fórum de Estudos: Leituras de Paulo Freire, evento anualmente realizado no RS. A intenção é ensaiar uma reflexão que possibilite compreender o atual momento da presença de Freire no RS a partir da sua histórica presença desde os anos 50."Summary coming from the work itself: " What we propose in this paper is to rescue the memory of Paulo Freire's presence in Rio Grande do Sul and its contributions to popular education in the state since his first coming in the 50s, until his last in 1996. On the first part we present a broad overview of the literacy movement and popular education inspired by Paulo Freire's method, which preceded the military coup, with reference also to the Institute of Popular Culture, raised here. The paper finishes presenting a reflection on the learning and reinventions that has been happening in the Forum of Study: "Readings from Paulo Freire", an event held annually in RS. The intention is rehearsing a reflection that allow the understanding the current moment of the presence of Freire in the RS from its historical presence since the 50s."
